Layout with Hello Beautiful Papers – Grace

I’m back with my last project with my September kit – the main element of which was the stunning Hello Beautiful paper pad by Piatek Tryznastego.

To see how I created this layout, you can watch the process video here on my YouTube channel. It features lots of elements – stamping, heat embossing, texture paste, stencils, and watercolours. I used the Prima Paper Texture Paste for my stencilling which is currently my favourite stencilling medium.

The stencil I used is from this Vicki Boutin set. Some of the embellishments are fussy cut from the paper pad, the rest are from my stash – this paper pad is so versatile it’s so easy to use up things you have lying around!

Keep an eye out on my YouTube channel next week to see the beautiful items in my October kit.

Sunday, cuttin n stickin

Sunday, cuttin n stickin
well what a fab Day i had with Louise and Kasia
plotting and planning, cuttin n stickin!!
we were planning a 2020 retreat, making samples of some of the fab new papers in the shop Thompsonscraftsupplies
spending time with fab friends and eating a gorgeous lunch, what more could you ask for…..oh to do it all again soon please!!
these are AB Studio Breeze of the Forest papers, absolutely gorgeous and the quality of these papers is amazing, just loved all the fussy cutting, and layering, one of my fave ways to craft.
started off on the book and i covered the front cover with one of the 12×12 sheets, sanded, inked and sanded again the edges and all over, then i coloured a heavy paste and stenciled some flowers which matched the papers perfectly.
i then went over with a clear gesso.
next was a lot of fussy cutting and picked where my design was going, top left corner and bottom right corner.
i decided on my layering, and then using something to give height to the elements, either folded card, lefteover mdf pieces, those that are left in the sheets or 3d foam pads, i layered up and stuck my pieces in place using 3d gel.
tucking bits behind, lots of overlapping.
then the splattering with watered down white gesso.
when it was all dry i coated it all with a layer of clear gesso to help protect in when in use.
The Gift box
it was the same principles for my box i cut my pieces to fit the tops and sides on my box, using some open scissors i distressed the edges, stuck them down , inked the edges and then covered with some clear gesso which dragged some of the ink into the main paper which gave a lovely effect.
i layered up with some cheesecloth first then the fussy cut elements.
Thanks for reading

Butterfly Scrapbook Layout – Grace

This week I’ve created a pretty floral scrapbook layout with the Piatek Trzynastego Hello Beautiful paper pad.

The majority of embellishments were fussy cut from the paper pad itself, but before I added those, I added some mixed media to my background. I used Vicki Boutin Stencils, Prima Paper Paste, Distress Oxide Spray in Victorian Velvet, and Lindy’s Starburst Spray in Saltwater Taffy. I also added the floral stamps in the background, which are from my personal stash.

The photo is backed with a scrap of paper from the same paper pad. Next I added the gold glitter title, some phrase/quote stickers, and then LOTS of splatters and Nuvo Drops.

Halloween bunting

I Just love the title of this!
I’m a collector of curiosities….and stash and even more stash ….and just in case stash!!
and a collector of much randomness!!
The paper pad is Hocus Pocus from Piatek Trzynastego from Thompsons craft supplies
and some other Halloween papers from Louises mixed Halloween bundles. Check out the kit section for these.
firstly i covered the bunting banner with card stock and randomly stamped over it with bits of an image, just broken image not a solid full image, then i gently inked the edges.
firstly i did some tearing of my backing papers, the purple and the orange and layered them up on my background.i also added some cheese cloth to my back ground.
oh look at the wonky tassel, that’s bugging me lol
i did lots of fussy cutting from the paper pad and gradually layered it all up using 3d foam pads and 3d gel. tucking bits behind and overlapping each other, this is great for using part images too, if an image is going off your original paper you can still use it by just tucking it behind something!
i then punched holes in my top corners and at the bottom to add my string hanger and my wonky tassel lol the tassel i did colour as it was a light blue and didn’t work so i used some mixed media spray ink to colour it.

Fly Away Art Journal Page – Grace

How are we all liking the shiny new website?! I for one love it! This week I’ve created an Art Journal page with my September Design Team kit – if you’d like to watch the video share, you can find it on my YouTube channel here.

I used the Fabric Decoru Shabby Velour paint, and some black gesso to create the stripes. Then Prima Paper Paste for the stencilling.

I chose a paper from the Hello Beautiful paper pad, and ripped around the flowers (I thought it would look more ‘natural’ than fussy cutting them), and then stamped and embossed the AB Studio bird stamp on the same paper.

As I glued down the paper elements (with Prima 3D gloss gel), I bundled up gold metallic thread and placed it partially under the papers. I also added small sections of the black leaf ribbon.

The acetate doilies, bright pink flowers, and pink leaves are all from my stash (though the pink leaves were from a previous kit). I added the ‘fly away’ title with the Thickers from my kit, and finished off with lots of splatters in pink, black, and white.

To see the process in full, you can watch the video on my YouTube channel.

Halloween is Coming…

Halloween is coming……..love this time of year, the colours are amazing, and i get very excited about Halloween, I’m a big kid at at heart!!

So this month I get to play with Halloween products…..oh and its all amazing.

What to make?…… well……

The Apothecary

Using a dinky mdf upright from Thompson’s Craft Supplies,

I added some brick work using heavy duty paste on the back and the flat of the stand and when dry I painted and inked the brickwork until I was happy with the colour.

I then fussy cut lots of bottles and other ephemera from the papers I had in my kit …………

I inked them to dull the white a bit.

I then layered using 3d foam pads and 3d gel , I layered them up, I also added some cheese cloth rto the back ground that I had coloured.

I used the purple wired ribbon to make a curtain.

I added the title using gel to make it stand up and using 3d gel I added the art grit, when all was dry I splattered.

You can find a lot of these items in our kits and previous kit embellishment bags

Mini Vintage Canvas

Hi everybody,
It is Kasia here with another project. This month I am using many beautiful products from Louise’s shop.
This is my mini vintage canvas…
Here are steps:
1. I was going to use Maremi’s stencil on my background but…
2. Firstly I decided to add some texture using gauze on the background, I adhered it using white gesso.
3. When dried, I stamped randomly finnabair stamp and used stencil on top.

You will need texture paste to do.
4. I decided to use a mdf  butterfly from Fabrika Decoru, you need to add a layer of white gesso

5.i added some two types of lace ; I used gel medium to adhere all my embellishments

6. I lifted up gessoed butterfly but using a piece of cardboard.

7. Started building my layers, usingd tags from AB studio paper pad- behind closed door

8.added some paper and metals cogs

9. Finally I added a colour, I used antique gold paint from Fabrika Decoru, the green shade appeared by itself, I didn’t expect that but I liked it.
After I added some shading around embellishments using a black spray with a brush.
White splatters to finish it off… and sentiment of course..

Hope you like it as much as me…See you soon with another project,
Kasia x
