Monochrome Mixed Media Layout

Merry Christmas! I hope you’re having a wonderful time.

It’s Lou here with a mixed media layout for you.

I hadn’t been very well lately, but was dying to do something crafty so I settled for doing a load of stamping and fussy cutting it out ready to use in a project. I love to use versafine clair ink as its a really juicy ink and gives great detail at ease even for inexperience stampers like myself. If you’d like any details of any the stamps I have used please feel free to email us at:

I wanted to make a page using these stamps and wanted to stick to the monochrome feel so i chose a dark woodgrain from Mintay Papers Dear Diary pad. I chose 2 stencils – tiny circles by TCW and AB Studio stencil ID-70  For the paste I used Fabrika Decoru texture paste.

To keep with these theme, I used black impasto paint from Finnabair to extended the lines of the stenciling using a Maremi’s Small Art stencil.

Now I had a good background, I began to work on building up the page. I stuck down some of my die cut stamping with tape and some on foam tape to raise it. I added some other plain die cuts. I also used some acetate butterflies from 13 arts and some Prima moulded pieces I had a prima resin round frame I had made previously, but not used and it worked great for this piece. This was stuck down with Fabrika Decoru 3D gel

I finished the embellishments with some metal cogs painted with impasto paint, melange clear pebbles  and the ‘memories’ word, which is a Maremi’s Small Art word sticker backed on card, distressed and inked with black ink. I added just a touch of colour by adding very watered down prima metallique paint in bronze over some of the stenciling and die cuts. The lady is a Finnabair art daily sticker again backed on card and cut out. The piece was finished with a large Prima fabric flower painted in black gesso and distressed with white gesso and the bronze paint. I’d also added  little bit of mini art stones mixed with the Fabrika 3D gel and spread it again where the stenciling was to exaggerate the lines.

This page was made over a process of 2 days and it really helped me think more about my work. When we slow down and enjoy the process we can really make some great work as I’m really pleased with. Enjoy the process folks and have a wonderful Christmas and new year.

Explore The Universe

Louise here with a piece of wall art today.

I recently met with the ladies at Hobilicious  and they kindly gave me some lovely pieces to work with. One was a soon to be released piece, these 3 wooden style panels. I began by adding cheesecloth, some netting and a piece of lace using Fabrika Decoru matte medium

I coated this in FD black gesso

I also black gessoed some metals, some Prima moulded pieces and a layered moon piece from Hobilicious.

Here’s a close up on the texture once painted.

All my items were stuck to the main part using FD 3D gel.

With this piece I wanted to create the sense of light and dark as if it were a night sky lighted by the stars and moon.

To achieve this, I firstly lightened the moon piece, stars and areas around it with FD white gesso.

I then wanted to add some colour to the sky a bit. I used some FD watered down magic paints and Prima Impasto paints

I coated all the moon cluster, stars and wigs in Prima Sparks paint in Unicorn. They are super pigmented and sparkly. For an extra bit of shine, I mixed some iridescent prima mica powder into the FD matte medium and brushed it over some areas.

To finish, I painted a wooden ‘explore’ embellishment in black gesso and dried, and then embossed with a purple iridescent embossing powder. I lifted this off the background by adding to a piece of paper coated in the same sparks paint. I added some Prima melange pebbles to again imitate stars or the such like.

Here is the finished piece and some close ups. I hope you’ll give this light and dark method a try.

Wooden Advent

Lorna here with a Christmas home decor piece.
Firstly i painted my wooden drawer set with white paint. I then used the Mintay Papers Home For Christmas papers to cover the drawer fronts. I cut the shape then distressed the edges of the papers with my scissors.
I did some fussy cutting from the paper set and used 3d foam pads and gel paste as my glue. I found lots of old alphabets and used the left over numbers for my drawer numbers, painted red, white and gold.
When i had finished my drawers i then wrapped the whole thing with some wide ribbon and made a lovely big bow for the top, then added Prima Marketing flowers to make a lovely floral and ribbon arrangement on the top.

Christmas Album

Happy Christmas everyone Kasia Here. I Hope you are all looking forward this season cheer.
I have prepared Christmas albums for all the photos I will take during this season.
I used AB paper pad-breeze of the forest. I made the album myself  from scratch.
To make a hinge you will need 3 rectangular pieces, each 1cm smaller. The size is up to you. My first hinge was 9 cm width and 14cm long. You need to score each piece 1.5cm on each side as those side will be holding your pages.
You will need 6 cards to use as pages. I used 250gsm white card.I glue each folded card to each flap from my hinge. I left the opening on the top so I could place some tags/notes/photos in those pockets. I used the same pages for a cover but I glued double paper to make it more sturdy. I used scissors to distress the edges of each page.
Before decorating the outside of the album, I firstly I adhered the ribbon to go under the papers.
Each page was decorated with a paper from the same paper pack. Each page is 14cm x15cm hence you can decorate 4 pages with one 12inch sheet. Cover … I used some burlap, lace, cut our embellishments to decorate it. Added some flowers and deco topping crystal. I added some gold splatters and mdf word to finish it off.
Hope you enjoy my project and will have go at Christmas album as well. Crafty Christmas to all Kasia x

Easy Christmas Tree Layout with Prima Christmas in the Country

Hello! Grace here with another Christmassy scrapbook layout. I’ve seen so many layouts out there on YouTube and Instagram that have a Christmas tree shape as the main element on their page, but it’s usually a cut file – which, personally, I can’t always be bothered to do that, and also, not everyone has access to an electronic cutting machine. So, I wanted to create something with that shape but that was also really, really easy to make.

So I used the ‘Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ paper from Prima ‘Christmas in the Country’, and cut it into five strips. I then cut those strips into five different lengths to make the basic pyramid style tree shape.

I went round the edges of all the strips with Distress Oxide in Candied Apple, and after sticking them down in overlapping layers, went around the whole shape with my sewing machine. But before that, I added a light bit of gold stencilling and some gold splatters to the background so they’d poke out from behind the shape.

After backing my photos with woodgrain patterned, and then glitter card, and adhering them with foam so they’d stand out, very little embellishing was needed.

I simply added a few Prima flowers, ephemera piece, and a Hobbilicious wooden star at the top of the tree.

Lastly I added some Prima Say it in Crystals, and some Nuvo Drops, and the layout was complete! If you’d like to see the full process you can watch the video here.

Prima Christmas in the Country Layout

Hello, Grace here. I’m here with my first project with my December kit, using mostly the Prima Christmas in the Country collection.

This layout was a really quick one to put together, thanks to beautiful embellishments available in store such as the Prima flowers and hobbilicious chipboard.

I painted the chipboard banner and stars with Fabrika Decoru Antique Gold paint. While they were drying I backed my photo, adding Distress Oxide in Aged Mahogany around the edges, and added splatters of Antique Linen and gold.

I added flowers, puffy stickers, and Christmassy sentiments and stickers around the photo, and finished with some journaling in the bottom right corner, and some Honey Gold Nuvo Drops.

Fresh Feel Christmas Cards

It’s Kasia here and I am back again with some Christmas cards ..those ones are made with purpose of posting hence I tried to make them as flat as possible, using only few layers.

I have used Christmas tree chipboard from Creative Embellishments, they come as a strip of tree . I cut them into small sections. I coloured them with Fabrika Decoru Metallic Paint Bounty. I also added some wax as the bit of shading.

Main Paper background comes from AB studio Christmas collection, Secret Wood. They are layered onto black card to frame it.

I used Kaisercraft Music stamp to add interest to the background I heat embossed it using a gold embossing powder.

I wrapped a bit of thread around the base and sentiments was heat embossed too.

The only dimensions is added by using double sided foam tape to lift the tree of the paper… Hope you enjoyed my Christmas flat cards… I will be back with more projects soon…. Kasia x

Here are the finished cards.
