Life Is A Grand Adventure – Aly

Hello there everyone hope you had a fab weekend and are ready for another fabulous week whatever you are doing!
Today I am sharing a mixed media card using the following supplies –

P13 The Four Seasons 12×12 paper stack
Hobbilicious Ornate Flower Resins
Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide
Tim Holtz Sentiments

Stencil from my stash
oddments of ribbon and sisal
black card and a white card base
Basically I created this card by putting all my elements into a pleasing orientation and then I adhered them all to the card, matted onto a black card and mounted to a white card base, just a simple easy project this week, but rather effective I think.

Collect Beautiful Moments – Aly

Hi there Aly here this week with a shabby chic card using the beautiful papers from the Mintay Papers old Manor Collection and a couple of flowers from Prima.
Basically I have chosen the papers I would like for my backgrounds and fussy cut a selection of pieces from the bonus sheet that comes with the collection I have also used a couple of pieces of vintage look lace. I then laid it out into a pleasing orientation then just stuck it all together and added a sentiment from the Tim Holtz sentiments sticker book.
Hope you like, see you next Monday,
Hugs Aly xxx

Tell Me a Story – Aly

This week I have another little mini scrapbook page with a twist, I have distressed it and folded the corners over for more interest.
I started out by distressing the edges of my paper and then popped some paint splatters in black and white for the background. I gathered all my pieces together and decided on a
pleasing orientation and glued it all down. I’ve added seed beads and sisal for texture and
Hope you like hugs Aly xx

Now is the Right Time Mixed Media Page – Grace

This week I have created a fun mixed media project using some AB Studio packaging as my base (I always keep stuff like that, you never know when it’ll come in useful or inspire you!)

The part that says ‘be creative every day’ is part of the packaging – so I stuck some cheap (read: not very sticky) washi tape over it while I worked on the rest of the project, so that when I was nearly done I could peel the tape off and still have the phrase showing.

I love the way the project is built up over the phrase, rather than being on top (as words and phrases are usually one of the last things you add). It’s definitely a technique I’ll try again in the future.

The full process for this project can be watched in an accompanying video on my YouTube channel here.

Christmas Cards

Hello everybody Kasia here… This is the time of the year when I realise I need to make few Christmas cards for my friends and family. This year’s AB studio Secret Wood Christmas papers were just perfect for this.

Firstly I fussy cut all the elements.

I prepared my layers – black and gold and silver mirri card. I used my sewing machine to create the stitch border.

I distressed the edges using oxides  faded jeans and vintage photo.

I layered up my fussy cut elements and added some sisal, gauze and lace to add more texture. You can find some great items like this for adding texture in the trimmings bags

Some of the background were stamped with musical notes stamps by Kaisercraft.

I added chipboard sentiments.

I still wanted those cards to be flat and ready for posting. I used 7inch square blanks and matching envelopes. I enjoyed making those cards but I need more. I will be back soon with some more Christmas cards ideas.

Hugs Kasia

Mixed Media Cards – Grace

This week I was in need of some cards to send to people, and it’s been ages since I’ve made any mixed media cards – so I thought why not use my beautiful design team kit to make some?

I based the designs around the 13 Arts Summer Rhapsody paper pad, and used lots of goodies from my kit, and from previous kits, to create the backgrounds and to embellish.

For the background I used Fabrika Decoru Shabby Velour Paint, and Fabrika Decoru Chameleon Paint. I also added splatters with Fabrika Decoru Chalk Spray, and Distress Oxide Spray in Victorian Velvet.

The fabrics, trim,  and flowers are all available in kits – fabrics and trim as part of lucky dip kits, and flowers as part of the flower mixes available in the store.

To see the full process of how I made these, you can watch the accompanying YouTube video here.

Shabby Chic Wedding Card

Hello everybody,

Hope you are having a good carfty October…

I am …

Today I want to share with you my DL card in a box for a special wedding occasion.

I used beautiful paper from AB papers Shabby love Symphony…

I started with cover the base of my card and box with same sheet of paper from that pad. I prepared chipboards flourish from creative embellishments… I used chameleon metalic from Fabrika Decoru. As my chipboard was dark (brown) my paint came out as more gold than pink. You will get more pink shade on white base… but that’s the magic of those paints…

I fussy cut lots of flowers and leaves from the same paper collection… I stained the edges using distress oxides with sponge tool.

I added some texture to the background using prima stencil and white texture paste…

The cake stamps were coloured with prima water colour paints… The cake stamp is from my stash as it matched the team of my project perfectly I just had to use it…

When I had all embellishments ready I started layering…

Please remember to lift some of your paper embellishments using left over chipboard bits or cardboard…

I added the sentiment and personalised the card with names and date later on…

Hope you enjoyed my project…

Have a good day,

Crafty hugs
