Shabby Chic Layout with Mintay Homemade – Grace

With the gorgeous Homemade papers from Mintay, I’ve created this shabby chic mixed media scrapbook layout.

There was supposed to be process video for this one, but unfortunately my camera had a moment, and decided not to film (without me realising), so I’ll give you a basic run down of what I did.

In the background I added a layer of clear gesso first, then added stencilling with modelling paste and paper paste, some stamping with Kaisercraft texture stamps, and then a little bit of colour with various distress oxides (all items will be linked at the bottom of this post).

The I added a layer of bundled up tulle (using a hot glue gin as it’s important that it dries quickly). Then lots of fussy cut flower clusters from the paper pack.

Next I added a little bit of lace here and there and then gorgeous paper flowers from one of the flower mixes from the shop. To finish I added flat back pearls, nuvo drops, and blue and white splatters, and a few Tim Holtz Clippings Stickers.

Items Used Are (click on each to be taken to the listing):

Mintay Homemade Paper Pack

Mintay Homemade Chipboard Stickers

Flower Mixes

Trimmings Grab Bag/Bundle

Hobbilicious Baroque Stencil

Distress Oxide Tattered Rose

Distress Oxide Speckled Egg

Follow your Heart – Scrapbook Layout

Follow your heart scrapbook layoutthese papers are just my subject and colourways, just love them, and when you love something it makes it very easy to create with them, and this set did just that.
My DT kit from Thompsons craft supplies for October i need to get these done before i go away on my weeks sewing retreat with friends (if restrictions allow, watching the updates constantly!!)and this range is making it very easy to do that.

for this project i used……13arts end of summer paper range13arts end of summer A4 sticket sheet13arts end of summer stencil – sunflowers finnabair sparks acrylic paint – pheonix featherfinnabair art alchomy wax –  firebirdTim Holtz idea ology wordsHobbilicious mdf leavesThompsons craft supplies flower collections
from my stash i also used clear gesso
my how to….i started by painting my whole background sheet with clear gesso,
when this was dry i sponged through my stencil with the acrylic paint.i mounted my photo on some white card stock and placed in just above centre using 3d foam pads and 3d geli chose and fussy cut my paper elements and painted with clear gesso,i then placed them all to see how my arrangement would sit, when i was happy i took a picture to refer back to , took it all apart and started to glue it all in place using 3d foam pads and 3d gel for the paper elements and the 3d gel for the mdf leaves.starting with the mdf leaves i built it up finishing with the paper flowers.i then added my title.i covered my photo and splattered with water down acrylic paint.

Together – Scrapbook Layout

Together – Scrapbook Layout

the first of my projects for Thompsons craft supplies
with lots of fussy cutting but quite a simple layout.
for this project i used……
also from my stash i used some clear gesso, blackgesso, loose weave hessian and white acrylic paint.
firstly i went over my bas page with some clear gesso, i like to do this as for one thing it makes the page a bit stronger plus if i then decide to add some ink it allows it to move and be on top of the page rather than just sink where it hits!
it just happens that it had a little it of red ink on my paint brush that i didn’t notice so it coloured the page a little but that was good it fitted in with the colour scheme really well.
i then cut a circle from my hessian and placed it in the middle of my page, i then did some fussy cutting, lots of fussy cutting lol
i painted my “together” title and my butterfly white, then placing the photo raised on 3d foam pads in the middle i then added my fussy cut pieces, title and butterfly and built the circle up until i was happy with the result.
i finished with some white splatters and black splatters.
love a bit of splattering!!

Love This Life-Scrapbook Layout

Love This Life – Scrapbook layout

another from my August Dt kit From Thomsonscraftsupplies

For this project i used……

P13 Till we meet again paper pack

pentart wax – turtle green
AB Studio chipboard sheet –ID87
13 Arts color glow – Ruby
and from my stash i used a text stamp, handmade postage stamps, and some mixed flowers.
i am using one of the floral sheets from the paper pack, it has already printed flowers on bottom left and top right of the sheet so a nice base to start,i then randomly stamped on my base sheet with my text stamp.
i then cout out from several of the other sheet from the pack, strips, no measuring just cut them, so from 1 inch to 2 inch then cut them down from the 12 in that they started again i didn’t measure just cut them, i then layered them onto my backing sheet at different heights until i was happy, i placed my photo on top so see how it was looking with that in place, when i was happy i stuck them down.
i also added a post card which is a cut out from one of the papers in the pad
i took 2 of the chipboard leaf collections from the sheet and coloured with the pentart wax and placed them so they would be poking out from behind the photo.
i mounted my photo on one of the sheets from the collection and using foam pads added this to the
lay out
i did some fussy cutting and placed them round the photo , some poking out from behind the photo and some overlapping the photo.
i added my stamps
i placed my title and flowers.
lastly i covered my photo and splattered with the Ruby Color Glow.

Shine-Scrapbook Layout

I managed to fit one more project from my July kit from Thompsons craft supplies a scrapbook layout of my eldest daughter at my sons wedding, dont think i will ever be finished the wedding photos lol

For this project i used….
AB studio papers Diva
AB studio stencil ID 94
13 arts color glow Tanzanite
Dina Wakley paint Fuschia
To start i mixed  some of the tanzanite with the fuschia paint and then stencilled it onto my base 12×12 paper from the paper pad.
i then used a little more of the tanzanite with water added to activate it and splattered this onto my sheet, i also added some in powder form and then added a little water to activate.
i then dried my sheet.
i left it to dry properly and cut up some more of my papers into different sizes for layering and distressed the edges with my scissors.
i then did lots of fussy cutting, i  layered my background using foam pads to give it height and with my photo on the top and then layered my fussy cut elements, poking them under on each layers of the back ground.
i found the shine wooden word in my stash and using an embossing powder from my stash i embossed it 3 times to give more height and colour to the word.
lastly i covered my photo and did a little more splattering with my tanzanite.

Life Is A Grand Adventure – Aly

Hello there everyone hope you had a fab weekend and are ready for another fabulous week whatever you are doing!
Today I am sharing a mixed media card using the following supplies –

P13 The Four Seasons 12×12 paper stack
Hobbilicious Ornate Flower Resins
Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide
Tim Holtz Sentiments

Stencil from my stash
oddments of ribbon and sisal
black card and a white card base
Basically I created this card by putting all my elements into a pleasing orientation and then I adhered them all to the card, matted onto a black card and mounted to a white card base, just a simple easy project this week, but rather effective I think.
