Snowy Wintery Layout – Grace

I’m here this week with my last project with my November kit. I created this very wintery and snowy layout featuring my cat in the snow.

Using AB Studio Secret Wood, I chose this snowy paper, but added a light layer of white gesso over a large area in the middle so the pattern would be toned down for where I added my photo and embellishments.

I added stencilling with Prima Paper Paste and an AB Studio Stencil, then snowflake stencilling with embellishment mousse. Then I added splatters of watered down gesso, and watered down Fabrika Decoru Metallic Silver Paint.

I used lots of ripped pieces of patterned paper, and a scrap of tulle to back my photo, going round the edges of everything with Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass. The embellishments are a mix of fussy cut flowers from the AB paper pack, painted with silver watercolour, and some snowflake ephemera from my stash. The words are from the Time Holtz Christmas Clippings.

I finished with adhesive pearls and Nuvo drops in three silver/white colours, then added my title of ‘nope’ (because that is what it looks like my cat is saying to the snow!). The alphas I used were quite a strong blue and weren’t quite right for the layout, so I stippled a light layer of white gesso over them to tone the colour down and also add a snowy effect.

Frosty Fox Layout with AB Secret Wood – Grace

This week I’ve made a frosty wintery layout with AB Studio Secret Wood.

We have twin foxes (this year’s babies) who come into our garden, and I have a few pictures of them I’ve been meaning to scrap – as soon as I saw the fussy-cutable fox elements in this paper pack I knew it was my chance!

I added stencilling with an AB studio stencil and Prima Paper Texture paste, plus some snowflake stencils from my stash and glitter and glass bead pastes. Then to add some of my own colour to the background, I watered down some Distress Oxide ink in tumbled glass and splattered over the layout with a paintbrush, then also added Distress Oxide Spray in Mermaid Lagoon, Fabrika Decoru Chalk Spray in Pink, and some watered down gesso.

The embellishments are either fussy cut from the paper pack, or from flower bundles from the store. I also used 3D Gloss Gel to add Prima Glass beads between the embellishments, then lightly dabbed Fabrika Decoru Silver Metallic paint on those and on some of the other embellishments for a frosty effect.

Shabby Chic Wedding Card

Hello everybody,

Hope you are having a good carfty October…

I am …

Today I want to share with you my DL card in a box for a special wedding occasion.

I used beautiful paper from AB papers Shabby love Symphony…

I started with cover the base of my card and box with same sheet of paper from that pad. I prepared chipboards flourish from creative embellishments… I used chameleon metalic from Fabrika Decoru. As my chipboard was dark (brown) my paint came out as more gold than pink. You will get more pink shade on white base… but that’s the magic of those paints…

I fussy cut lots of flowers and leaves from the same paper collection… I stained the edges using distress oxides with sponge tool.

I added some texture to the background using prima stencil and white texture paste…

The cake stamps were coloured with prima water colour paints… The cake stamp is from my stash as it matched the team of my project perfectly I just had to use it…

When I had all embellishments ready I started layering…

Please remember to lift some of your paper embellishments using left over chipboard bits or cardboard…

I added the sentiment and personalised the card with names and date later on…

Hope you enjoyed my project…

Have a good day,

Crafty hugs

Sunday, cuttin n stickin

Sunday, cuttin n stickin
well what a fab Day i had with Louise and Kasia
plotting and planning, cuttin n stickin!!
we were planning a 2020 retreat, making samples of some of the fab new papers in the shop Thompsonscraftsupplies
spending time with fab friends and eating a gorgeous lunch, what more could you ask for…..oh to do it all again soon please!!
these are AB Studio Breeze of the Forest papers, absolutely gorgeous and the quality of these papers is amazing, just loved all the fussy cutting, and layering, one of my fave ways to craft.
started off on the book and i covered the front cover with one of the 12×12 sheets, sanded, inked and sanded again the edges and all over, then i coloured a heavy paste and stenciled some flowers which matched the papers perfectly.
i then went over with a clear gesso.
next was a lot of fussy cutting and picked where my design was going, top left corner and bottom right corner.
i decided on my layering, and then using something to give height to the elements, either folded card, lefteover mdf pieces, those that are left in the sheets or 3d foam pads, i layered up and stuck my pieces in place using 3d gel.
tucking bits behind, lots of overlapping.
then the splattering with watered down white gesso.
when it was all dry i coated it all with a layer of clear gesso to help protect in when in use.
The Gift box
it was the same principles for my box i cut my pieces to fit the tops and sides on my box, using some open scissors i distressed the edges, stuck them down , inked the edges and then covered with some clear gesso which dragged some of the ink into the main paper which gave a lovely effect.
i layered up with some cheesecloth first then the fussy cut elements.
